(Agent)

(Environment)

(Session)

(Events)

Shell

🔧 ant CLI
Mac

🔧 Anthropic API
1️⃣ روح على console.anthropic.com وسجّل حساب

Claude Managed Agents
Anthropic just removed the biggest excuse people had for not building AI agents.

Until recently, building an AI agent that works autonomously — completes tasks, handles files, connects to tools, runs for hours without you watching — required an engineering team, weeks of setup, and a serious infrastructure budget. That changed in April 2026. Anthropic launched Managed Agents, and the barrier dropped far enough that anyone with an idea and an API key can start building the same day.

🧩 What it actually is

Claude Managed Agents is a service where Anthropic handles all the infrastructure behind running an AI agent. You define what the agent should do. They build, run, manage, and host it on their own servers.

Before this, if you wanted an autonomous agent, you were responsible for writing the agent loop, connecting the tools, handling errors, and maintaining the server. Now the division is simple: you handle the logic of what the agent should accomplish. Anthropic handles everything else.

Think of it like the difference between building a car versus calling an Uber. You still decide where you're going. You just stopped having to build the road.

⚙️ How it works

Four concepts power the whole system. Understand these and everything else follows naturally.

🤖 Agent
The blueprint. You define which model it uses, what tools it has access to, and what instructions it follows. Create it once, run it as many times as you need.

🏗️ Environment
The workspace. A secure cloud container where the agent runs code, reads and writes files, and accesses the internet. You control what it can reach.

▶️ Session
A live instance. When you hand the agent a task, a session starts and keeps running until the task is complete — even if it takes hours.

📨 Events
The conversation layer. You send instructions, the agent sends back results, status updates, and questions when it needs input.

The architecture has a practical benefit that matters at scale: if the agent crashes mid-task, the session saves the entire history. A new agent instance spins up, reads the log, and continues from where things stopped. No work is lost.

Every agent also comes with eight built-in tools enabled from the start:
🖥️ Run shell commands
📖 Read any file in the workspace
✍️ Create and write new files
✂️ Edit existing files with precision
🔍 Find files by pattern
🔎 Search inside file content
🌐 Search the web in real time
🔗 Fetch content from any URL

Beyond these defaults, you can add custom tools or connect MCP servers to link databases, external APIs, or internal company systems.

🌍 Where you see it

🧹 Data processing
Upload a messy spreadsheet and the agent cleans it, analyzes the trends, builds charts, and delivers a ready report without a single manual step from you.

🔬 Research automation
Give it a topic, it searches the web, reads the sources, cross-references the information, and writes a structured brief with citations.

💻 Code generation
Describe what you need built, and the agent writes it, runs it, fixes any errors, and hands you working code with documentation.

👥 Multi-agent coordination
A manager agent delegates work to specialized agents. One handles research, another handles writing, a third handles review. Each operates in parallel.

🛠️ Tools you actually use

🔧 ant CLI
The official command-line tool from Anthropic for creating and managing agents directly from your terminal. Fastest way to get started, no coding required beyond basic terminal comfort.
1️⃣ Open Terminal on Mac
2️⃣ Run: brew install anthropics/tap/ant
3️⃣ Set your API key as an environment variable and start building

🔧 Anthropic API
Full control through three endpoints directly. The right choice if you want to embed agents inside an existing product or build something custom.
1️⃣ Go to console.anthropic.com and create an account
2️⃣ Add a payment method and generate your API key
3️⃣ Use POST /v1/agents to define the agent, POST /v1/environments for the workspace, and POST /v1/sessions to run it

💡 Try it yourself: step by step

Scenario: you want an agent that researches a topic online and writes you a structured report.

1️⃣ Install the ant CLI via Homebrew and confirm your API key is set in your environment variables
2️⃣ Create the agent using ant agents create and write a clear system prompt such as "You are a research agent. Search the web and produce structured reports with cited sources"
3️⃣ Create a runtime environment using ant environments create with internet access enabled
4️⃣ Start a session with ant sessions start and send your first task, for example "Research the latest AI infrastructure releases in April 2026"
5️⃣ Watch the real-time event stream in your terminal and wait for the agent to deliver its finished report

What you get at the end: a complete, source-backed report the agent produced through real web research, with no browser tabs opened by you and no code written beyond the setup commands.

What to do next
✅ Go to console.anthropic.com and set up an API account if you do not have one yet
✅ Try building one agent for a task you repeat regularly at work or in a project
✅ Ask yourself which parts of your workflow involve searching, writing, or processing information at scale

The people who understand agents now are the ones building while everyone else is still watching.
