Rewriting versus translating

Translation moves a sentence across as is. Rewriting builds an independent version for each language with the same information and its own structure and rhythm.

Tone file

A file that describes how you write in each language, what to avoid, with right and wrong examples. The most important file in the system.

Context files

Your tone, audience and platform rules files. Write them once and pass them to Claude every session, because it does not remember between conversations.

Brief

A short description of the topic, the key message and the goal. Every version starts from it, never from a previously published post.

   Decide: rewrite or translate

   Literal translation gives you text that is grammatically correct and emotionally dead. Professional Gulf Arabic runs on a different rhythm from formal MSA: warm, confident and brief at the same time.

   The core structural difference: English builds an argument step by step, while effective Arabic leads with the conclusion or the human point and then justifies it. Write in English order and translate, and you break the Arabic reader's expectation every time.

   The quick test: does the reader want to feel something or understand something? To feel, rewrite: social posts, ads, landing pages, marketing emails. To understand, accurate translation is enough: usage instructions, notifications, error messages. Tell Claude the primary goal of the content and it picks the right approach.
