Three Tools Inside ClaudeArabic

🔧 Claude Desktop
Windows
Anthropic
Edit Config

🔧 Filesystem MCP Server
Claude Desktop

🔧 Google Calendar MCP
Google Calendar API

**Three Tools Inside Claude**
Claude is not just a chat window. Connect it to the right tools and it becomes a worker that touches your actual files, calendar, and data.

Most people open Claude, type a question, read the answer, and move on. That works. But it is like buying a car and only sitting in it in the driveway. The real capability shows up when you connect Claude to the things you actually work with every day: your files, your calendar, and your data. The difference between the two versions of Claude is not the prompt. It is the connections.

**What it actually is**
At its core, Claude is a language model (LLM). It understands text and generates responses. On its own, it cannot open a file on your computer, add a calendar event, or read a live spreadsheet. But Anthropic built a standard called MCP, which stands for Model Context Protocol. It lets Claude communicate with external programs in a structured, safe way. Once connected, instead of answering only from memory, Claude can open a file, read it, modify it, and return the real result.

**How it works**
The idea is straightforward. Claude can use "tools" that run in the background during a conversation. Once you give it permission to access a specific tool, the process looks like this:

1️⃣ You write your request in plain language
2️⃣ Claude decides which tool it needs to use
3️⃣ It sends a request to that tool, for example "open file X" or "add an event tomorrow at 3pm"
4️⃣ The tool executes and returns the result to Claude
5️⃣ Claude uses that result to complete its response

The three tools that change how you work:

📁 File tool: lets Claude open files from your computer, read them, edit them, and create new ones
📅 Calendar tool: lets Claude view your schedule, add events, and flag conflicts before they happen
📊 Data tool: lets Claude work with real spreadsheets or databases and pull precise answers from them

**Where you see it**
This is not only for developers. Anyone with repetitive work can benefit:

💼 Business owners who want Claude to read an Excel report, summarize it, and turn it into a ready email draft
📅 Busy people who want Claude to find the next open two hour window in their calendar for a meeting
📂 Content creators who want Claude to scan a folder of text files and sort them by theme automatically
🗄️ Analysts who want to ask Claude questions in plain language and get answers pulled from a live database

**🛠️ Tools you actually use**

🔧 Claude Desktop
The official desktop app from Anthropic. This is the main entry point for enabling MCP and connecting Claude to external tools. Without it, you cannot run tools on your local machine.
How to get started:
1️⃣ Go to claude.ai/download and get the version for your system, Mac or Windows
2️⃣ Install the app and sign in with your Anthropic account
3️⃣ Open Settings, navigate to the Developer section, and click Edit Config

🔧 Filesystem MCP Server
An open source tool from Anthropic that lets Claude read and write files from folders you choose. You stay in control of which directories it can access and it cannot go beyond what you specify.
How to get started:
1️⃣ Make sure Node.js is installed on your machine, available at nodejs.org
2️⃣ Open the claude_desktop_config.json file and add the filesystem server configuration, the exact code is in Anthropic's official documentation on GitHub
3️⃣ Specify which folders Claude can access, then restart Claude Desktop

🔧 Google Calendar MCP
A tool that connects Claude directly to your Google Calendar. It lets Claude view your existing events and create new ones straight from the conversation window.
How to get started:
1️⃣ Go to Google Cloud Console, create a new project, and enable the Google Calendar API
2️⃣ Create OAuth credentials and download the credentials.json file to your machine
3️⃣ Add the Google Calendar MCP configuration to your claude_desktop_config.json file and restart the app

**💡 Try it yourself: step by step**
One clear scenario: you want Claude to read a text file from your computer and give you an organized summary, without pasting any content manually into the chat.

1️⃣ Download and install Claude Desktop, then add the Filesystem MCP Server through the config file as described above
2️⃣ Create a folder called claude_files on your desktop and place any text file inside it, a report, a task list, anything real
3️⃣ Open Claude Desktop and type: "Open the file [filename] from the claude_files folder and give me a summary of its main points"
4️⃣ Claude actually opens the file, reads it, and returns an organized summary built on the real content, not on a guess

What you will notice immediately: you never pasted anything into the chat. Claude reached the file on its own.

**What to do next**
✅ Download Claude Desktop and try the Filesystem MCP Server on a single folder first to get a feel for how it works
✅ Search GitHub for "MCP servers" and browse what tools already exist that fit your workflow
✅ Ask yourself: what task do I repeat every week that pulls from files or a calendar?

The power is not in the prompt. It is in what you connect Claude to.
