حدد موديل ومستوى جهد لكل أيجنت فرعي في Claude CodeSet the Model and Effort for Each Claude Code Subagent
You will define a Claude Code subagent with the model and effort level that fit its job, so you pay for the big model only when you need it.
Who this guide is for
Developers, founders and creators who use Claude Code daily and want lower cost and faster runs.
Key terms
- Subagent
- A small agent that takes one part of a bigger task, works in its own context, and returns the result to the main conversation.
- Effort
- A setting for how much the model thinks before it answers. Values: low, medium, high, xhigh, max. Higher is more accurate, slower and pricier. Available levels depend on the model.
- Frontmatter
- The settings lines at the top of a Markdown file, between two triple dash markers. They hold the agent's name, description and model.
The steps
Step 1
See where the money goes
By default Claude Code runs everything on one model, even searching files and reading logs. Those are simple jobs that do not need your strongest model.
The fix: each subagent gets its own model and effort. The main conversation stays on the strong model. Side jobs go to the cheaper one.
Tip: Start with one agent for the task you repeat most. Do not build a whole team on day one.
