مجلد CLAUDE في Cowork: رتّب ملفاتك مرة واحدة وخلّ Claude يعرف شغلكThe CLAUDE Folder in Cowork: Set Up Your Files Once So Claude Knows Your Work
You will set up one folder on your computer that Claude works from in Cowork: four folders, two files that teach it who you are and how you write, templates instead of repeated prompts, one plugin and your tools connected.
Who this guide is for
Anyone using Claude on a computer who keeps explaining themselves in every chat
Key terms
- Cowork
- A mode in the Claude desktop app. You pick a folder on your computer; Claude reads the files in it and saves finished work back to the same place.
- Global Instructions
- Standing instructions that apply to all your Cowork work. They live in Settings, then Cowork.
- Plugin
- A ready made bundle that gives Claude know how and workflows for one field. You install it from Customize.
- Connector
- A link between Claude and another tool like Gmail or Notion, so Claude can pull from it or work in it.
The steps
Step 1
Install the app and open Cowork
Cowork runs in the Claude desktop app on Mac or Windows, not in the browser. Download it from claude.com/download and sign in.
Open Cowork and start a new Project. The first thing it asks for is the folder it works from.
Step 2
Make a CLAUDE folder with four folders inside
Anywhere on your computer, make a folder called CLAUDE with four folders inside:
About me: who you are and how you write. Projects: one folder per live project. Templates: your best past work, which Claude uses as examples. Outputs: the only place Claude writes.
Then pick CLAUDE as the Project folder in Cowork.
PromptLet Claude set it upInside this folder, create four folders: About me, Projects, Templates, Outputs. Put a short README in each one that explains what goes there. Do not touch any other file.
Step 3
Write about-me.md
At the top of the folder, add about-me.md: who you are, what you do, your current projects, this month's priorities, and how you like work delivered (short tables? bullets? Arabic or English?).
Update it whenever something changes. The file moves with you; the instructions stay fixed.
PromptWrite it togetherAsk me 10 questions about my work, my projects, my priorities and how I like to work, one at a time. When I am done, write about-me.md at the top of this folder in short bullets.
Step 4
Write anti-ai-style.md
The second file lists every phrase and habit you never want in your work. For example: "in today's fast paced world", "let's dive in", long sentences, too many bullets, emoji.
Every time something bugs you, add it.
PromptStart the listWrite anti-ai-style.md with the phrases and habits that make text sound AI written, in Arabic and English, so you never use them in my work. Keep it a short list I can add to.
Step 5
Point the instructions at them
In the Project Instructions, tell Claude to read both files before any task and to write only in Outputs.
Want this in every project? Put it in Settings, then Cowork, then Global Instructions.
PromptProject instructionsBefore any task: read about-me.md and anti-ai-style.md. Use the Templates folder as style examples. Save finished work only in Outputs, and do not edit any other file unless I ask.
Step 6
Let Claude ask you first
Skip the long prompt. Ask for the task in one line and tell Claude to ask you questions. Cowork gives you questions with options you can pick in one click, or you type your own answer.
PromptOne line is enoughI want [the task]. Before you start, ask me the questions you need so the work comes out right the first time.
Step 7
Turn the prompt you repeat into a template
Any prompt you type more than once: save it as a file in Templates (for example brief.md).
On a Mac, give it a shortcut: System Settings, Keyboard, Text Replacements, then +. Put /brief in Replace and the line that calls it in With.
PromptThe shortcut textRead about-me.md and Templates/brief.md, then ask me before you start.
Step 8
One plugin, and your tools connected
In Customize, Plugins, install one plugin that fits your work: marketing, data, sales. Get good with it before adding another.
In Customize, Connectors, connect the tools you work in: Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Notion. You do it once, and Claude pulls from them and works in them.
Tip: Any plugin or connector runs with your permissions: install only from sources you trust.
Step 9
Test it
Ask Claude inside the Project how you work. If the answer has gaps, fill in about-me.md.
PromptThe testTell me what you know about how I work here, and which file you learned each thing from.
Ready prompts to copy
Review about-me.md, anti-ai-style.md and the Templates folder. Tell me what is out of date and what is missing for my work this month, and propose the edits before you change anything.
The takeaway
Explain yourself once, in a folder, and let Claude read it before every task.
