مونتاج فيديوهاتك بـ Claude Code: كل الخطوات والبرومبتاتEdit your videos with Claude Code: every step and prompt
Build your own AI video editor inside the Claude desktop app: it transcribes your footage, learns your editing style and cuts a finished reel without a timeline.
Who this guide is for
Creators who shoot reels and want fast edits in a consistent style.
Key terms
- Claude Code
- The version of Claude that works on files on your computer and runs commands itself. It lives in the Code tab of the Claude desktop app.
- Skill
- A file of instructions Claude saves and reuses every time. Here it holds your editing style, written out in detail.
- video-use
- An open source tool from browser-use that lets Claude Code edit video: cut, assemble and export with FFmpeg.
- HyperFrames
- An open source tool from HeyGen, under the Apache 2.0 licence, that renders HTML and animation into MP4. Claude uses it for animated text and graphics.
- ElevenLabs API key
- A key from your ElevenLabs account. video-use uses it to transcribe your speech with a timestamp on every word.
The steps
Step 1
Open the desktop app and pick Local
Skip the browser. Download the Claude desktop app and sign in. The Code tab needs a Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise plan.
Click the Code tab. Under the prompt box, click the first control, the environment selector, and pick the top entry in the Local group. Claude now runs on your machine and can reach all your files and footage.
From the official Claude Code docs: Local environment, then Open folderSource: code.claude.com Tip: Cloud runs on a remote server and cannot see the footage on your computer.
Step 2
Create the project folder with three subfolders
Create a new folder called AI Video Editor.
Inside it, make three folders: raw for your footage, references for style videos, exports for finished edits.
Then in the Code tab click the project folder control next to the environment selector, choose Open folder…, and pick AI Video Editor.
Step 3
Install the tools with one prompt
Paste this prompt into the session. Claude installs video-use, HyperFrames, yt-dlp and FFmpeg, plus anything missing like Python or Node.
Remotion is optional, for motion graphics only. Its licence, per its own page: free for individuals, for companies with up to 3 employees, and for non profit organisations. A larger for profit company needs a Company License. That is why the prompt makes Claude tell you the terms before it installs anything.
Approve the commands as it runs them.
Remotion licence: free up to 3 employees in a for profit companySource: remotion.dev PromptSetup promptYou are a short form video editor for vertical video, 9:16 at 1080x1920. Set up my editing environment in this folder: 1. Install video-use from https://github.com/browser-use/video-use: read install.md and follow it step by step, wire up FFmpeg and register the skill with Claude Code. 2. Install HeyGen's HyperFrames as a Claude Code plugin: claude plugin marketplace add heygen-com/hyperframes claude plugin install hyperframes@hyperframes 3. Optional: Remotion for motion graphics. Tell me its licence terms before you install it. 4. Install yt-dlp and FFmpeg if they are missing. 5. Install Python, Node 22 or Git if any are missing. Finish with a checklist of everything installed and anything still missing. Do not edit anything yet.
Tip: HyperFrames needs Node 22 or newer, and both tools need FFmpeg.
Step 4
Get an ElevenLabs key and hand it to Claude
Sign up at ElevenLabs and open the API keys page in settings: elevenlabs.io/app/settings/api-keys
Click Create key, name it and copy it right away. It is shown once.
Give it to Claude with this prompt. video-use uses ElevenLabs Scribe to transcribe your footage word by word, which is how it knows where to cut.
PromptSave the keyHere is my ElevenLabs key: [your key] Save it where video-use's install.md says to, most likely a .env file as ELEVENLABS_API_KEY, readable only by me. Do not repeat the key in your reply and never commit or upload .env. Then confirm video-use can read it.
Tip: Treat the key like a password. Keep it out of screenshots.
Step 5
Teach Claude your style and save it as a skill
Pick a style: a creator you want to match, or your own. Copy links to their TikTok or Instagram videos.
Give at least three. Five is better. More examples, sharper style.
Claude downloads them, breaks the style down and shows you. Once you approve, it saves a skill called my-editing-style.
Want to go deeper on the skill itself? The STYLE guide covers it.
PromptStyle promptHere are videos in the style I want: [link 1] [link 2] [link 3] [link 4, optional] [link 5, optional] Download them into references with yt-dlp. Then break down the editing style in detail: pacing and shot length, jump cuts, zooms and punch ins, caption look, size and position, motion graphics and B roll, colour grade, sound and SFX, and how the hook works in the first 3 seconds. Show me the breakdown first. When I approve, save it as a skill at .claude/skills/my-editing-style/SKILL.md
Step 6
Shoot your raw footage and drop it in raw
Shoot on your phone camera, even in one take. I shoot at 1080p and 60fps.
Don't worry about mistakes and retakes. Claude cuts them.
Move the file into the raw folder you made at the start.
Tip: Give the file a clear name so you can point to it in a prompt.
Step 7
Pick Opus 5.5 and run the edit
In the model picker under the prompt box, near the send button, choose Opus 5.5. If you don't see it, pick the newest Opus in the list.
Paste the edit prompt. Claude uses your skill and video-use, and shows you the edit plan before it starts.
After rendering it checks every cut and saves the video to exports.
PromptEdit promptEdit the video in the raw folder using the my-editing-style skill and video-use. Format 9:16 at 1080x1920. Cut filler words, false starts, repeats and dead pauses. Put the strongest hook in the first 3 seconds. Captions, zooms, graphics and SFX follow the skill. Target length: [e.g. 45 seconds]. Show me the plan first, before you edit. After rendering, check every cut and save the final version to exports.
Step 8
Revise by prompt, not by timeline
There is no timeline. To change something, tell Claude exactly what you want, with a timestamp when you can.
The five revision prompts below are the ones I use most. Swap in your own numbers and timestamps.
Tip: One change per message lands more precisely than five at once.
Step 9
The whole system in the course
This guide is the free part. The full system is in my course: 16 lessons in Gulf Arabic, with Arabic captions in the right word order, one loudness level, a ready SKILL.md, and a whole folder edited with one command.
Ready for the whole system? The course is here: https://mabuzant.com/academy/claude-video-editing?src=guide-cut
Ready prompts to copy
The first 2 seconds are slow. Cut them so the video opens on the first strong line, and export a new version to exports.
Make the captions 20% smaller and move them lower, but keep them clear of the Instagram buttons. Apply it to the whole video.
Add a subtle punch in every time I say a number or a key point. Don't do it on two lines in a row.
At [00:12] show on screen text that says: [text]. Match the graphics style in the skill and remove it after 2 seconds.
At [00:27] the cut is too tight. Leave half a second before the next line so the shot can breathe.
The takeaway
Set it up once, teach it your style once, then every video is one prompt away.
