خلّ Claude يتعلم ستايلك في المونتاجTeach Claude Your Editing Style

Have Claude Code learn your editing style from 3 to 5 reels and write it into style.md in numbers: pacing, captions, zooms, inserts and colour.

Who this guide is for

Creators who film talking head reels and want to stop editing by hand, on Mac or Windows.

Key terms

Claude Code
The version of Claude that works on the files on your computer and runs commands. Open it from the Code tab in the Claude desktop app, or from a terminal.
Skill
A folder with a SKILL.md file of standing instructions. Claude loads it when your request matches its description, or when you type its name after /.
HyperFrames
An open source framework from HeyGen that turns an HTML page with video, captions and motion into an MP4. Apache 2.0, runs on your machine.
style.md
A file Claude writes after studying your reels. It holds your style in numbers: pacing, captions, zooms, inserts and colour.
FFmpeg
A free tool that cuts video and pulls frames from it. The skill uses it to cut; HyperFrames uses it to export.

The steps

  1. Step 1

    Install Node and FFmpeg

HyperFrames needs Node.js 22 or newer, plus FFmpeg.

On Mac: download the LTS installer from nodejs.org, or if you have Homebrew, run this in Terminal: brew install node ffmpeg

On Windows: open PowerShell and run: winget install OpenJS.NodeJS.LTS winget install Gyan.FFmpeg Then close PowerShell and open it again.

Check it worked: node -v should print 22 or higher, and ffmpeg -version should print a version number.

Tip: If Windows still says ffmpeg is not found after installing, restart the computer once.

  2. Step 2

    Install the HyperFrames skills

HyperFrames ships skills that teach Claude how to write and render video.

If you use Claude Code in a terminal, run these two commands from the official README: claude plugin marketplace add heygen-com/hyperframes claude plugin install hyperframes@hyperframes

If you only use the desktop app, run this in Terminal or PowerShell: npx skills add heygen-com/hyperframes A picker opens with nothing selected. Choose hyperframes, hyperframes-cli and media-use, and pick Claude Code if it asks which agent. Or add --all to the end of the command to install the full set.

Three skills matter here: hyperframes for composing, hyperframes-cli for checking and rendering, and media-use for audio and transcripts.

  3. Step 3

Set up the editing folder and open it in Claude Code

Create a new folder, for example Video Editor.

In the Claude desktop app, open the Code tab. Under the prompt box, click the first control, the environment selector, and pick the top entry in the Local group. Then click the folder control next to it, choose Open folder… and pick the folder you made. That way Claude can reach your files and footage.

Then paste this prompt. Claude creates the folders and checks the tools without touching any video.

The Claude Code desktop docs page: pick the top entry in the Local group, then open your project folder
From the official Claude Code docs: Local environment, then Open folderSource: code.claude.com
    PromptFolder setup
Set up this folder for editing:
    1. Create the folders raw, references, inserts, exports and work if they are missing.
    2. Run npx hyperframes doctor and tell me the result.
    3. Check that the HyperFrames skills are available to you (hyperframes, hyperframes-cli and media-use). If one is missing, tell me the exact step to fix it.
Do not edit any video yet.

Tip: Every file has a fixed home: raw footage in raw, extra images and clips in inserts, results in exports.

  4. Step 4

Add 3 to 5 reference reels

These are the reels Claude learns from. Use your own if your style is set, or reels from a creator whose style you like.

Put the actual video files (MP4 or MOV) in the references folder. Three at minimum, five is better.

Pick reels of the same kind: all talking head, all around the same length. Mix formats and the style comes out muddy.

  5. Step 5

    Have Claude learn your style

This is the learning step. Claude does not watch video the way we do, so it pulls a frame every half second, transcribes the audio and measures the pacing in numbers.

Paste the prompt and read the file it shows you. Correct anything wrong before you approve, because every edit after this follows that file.

    PromptLearn the style
Read every video in the references folder. These are [3 to 5] reels in the style I want: [my own reels / reels from a creator I like].

    For each video:
    1. Pull a frame every 0.5 s with FFmpeg and look at them.
    2. Transcribe the audio with word level timestamps (use the HyperFrames media-use skill).
    3. Measure: cuts per minute, average shot length, how often a zoom or punch in happens.

Then write one style file with what repeats across all of them, in these sections, with numbers instead of vague words:
Pacing and shot length · Hook in the first 3 s · Captions (font, size, position, colour, words per line, how the key word stands out) · Zooms and punch ins (when and how much) · Inserts and B roll (when they appear and how long they stay) · Motion and transitions · Colour · Music and sound effects · Total length.

Show me the file first. If I approve, save it to ~/.claude/skills/edit-my-style/style.md

Tip: Ask for numbers: "3 words per line" beats "big captions" every time.

  6. Step 6

The whole system in the course

This guide is the free part. The full system is in my course: 16 lessons in Gulf Arabic, with Arabic captions in the right word order, one loudness level, a ready SKILL.md, and a whole folder edited with one command.

Ready for the whole system? The course is here: https://mabuzant.com/academy/claude-video-editing?src=guide-style

Ready prompts to copy

PromptRefresh your style every few months
I added [3] new reels to references. Compare them with style.md and tell me what changed in my style. Propose the edits to the file and save only after I approve.

The takeaway

Your style is now a file, in numbers. Every edit after this follows it.
