قبل ما تسلّم Claude Duet حساباتك: سبعة أقفال تعرفها وكيف تستخدمها صحBefore You Hand Claude Duet Your Accounts: Seven Locks to Know and How to Use Them Well
Claude Duet can send, pay and sign for you, but every one of those passes seven locks first. After this guide you will know each lock, how to set up your accounts, and how to read an approval request before you tap approve.
Who this guide is for
Anyone on Pro or Max who is waiting for Claude Duet or has started using it
Key terms
- Claude Duet
- A version of Claude that works for you in the apps you connect and messages you when something needs you. It is a research preview for Pro and Max subscribers in the US, through a waitlist.
- Approval request
- Before Duet sends a message, makes a payment, signs a document or deletes anything, it stops and shows you the action, the destination, the content and every recipient, then waits for your OK.
- One time card
- When it buys something, it pays from a wallet like Link by Stripe with a card limited to that merchant and amount. Your real card number never reaches Duet or the merchant.
- Prompt injection
- Instructions hidden inside a page or a message that try to steer an agent into doing something you never asked for. Duet runs a separate check outside the model so those instructions cannot change the outcome.
The steps
Step 1
Check you qualify and join the waitlist
Duet is open to Pro and Max subscribers with a Claude account in the US, and access opens in waves. It is not on Team or Enterprise plans yet.
On the Claude Duet page tap Join the waitlist, use the same email as your Claude account, and pick your plan and phone type. When the invite arrives, open it on your phone with the Apple or Google account tied to that email.

Step 2
Connect apps yourself, one at a time
You start every connection, and Duet never reaches an app you did not connect. Start with the one app you actually need, like email or calendar, then add more.
Microsoft 365 is not available yet, and some connectors such as Slack have limits.
PromptAsk before you connect anythingI want to start with you on [type of work]. Tell me exactly which apps you need, and what you will read and do in each. Do not ask for any app this work does not need.
Step 3
Keep passwords out of the chat
Duet never sees your passwords, cookies or sign in tokens. Passwords travel encrypted to the browser; the model does not read them and cannot save or repeat them.
So there is no reason to type a password in the chat. If anything other than the official sign in page asks for one, stop.

Step 4
Route purchases through a wallet, not your card
For purchases, connect Link by Stripe or Shop Pay. Each purchase gets a one time card for that merchant and amount, and your real card number never reaches Duet or the merchant.
Before each purchase it asks you to approve the maximum amount. Link currently needs a US payment method.

Read the approval request line by line
Locks three to six are approvals: before it sends, pays, signs or deletes, it stops. The request shows the action, the destination, the content and every recipient.
Do not approve on reflex. Check each recipient, the amount, and the file being signed or deleted.
PromptA standing rule for approvalsBefore every approval request, tell me in one line: what you will do, to whom, the amount if there is a payment, and what could happen if you are wrong. If there are more than [number] recipients, warn me first.
Step 6
Know what stays off limits even with approval
Lock seven: some actions Duet will not take even with your OK, like trading securities, moving money between accounts, or accessing someone else's account. It also does not call or text other people.
If your work needs any of these, plan to do it yourself from the start.
Step 7
Do not rely on it for urgent things, and watch your usage
Duet checks your accounts at set intervals, so something urgent can land between checks. It is an early version and can misread a thread or misjudge what is urgent.
Background work like the morning brief counts toward your plan's five hour session and weekly limits. Admitted users get one full limit reset, available until November 30, 2026.
PromptThe morning brief, your wayEvery morning send me a short brief: the top [number] items from [apps], and anything waiting for my approval. Put what needs a reply today first, and the rest in one line.
Ready prompts to copy
List every app connected to you right now and what you used from each this week. Suggest any app I can disconnect because you do not need it.
The takeaway
Duet does the work, the decision stays with you: passwords out of the chat, a one time card per purchase, and every approval read before you tap.
