Roast Room في Claude Code: حط قرارك قدام مجلس مستشارين من AI وخذ الحكم بالدرجاتRoast Room in Claude Code: Put Your Decision in Front of a Board of AI Advisors and Get a Scored Verdict
Roast Room is a free, open source skill for Claude Code. You bring a business decision, a board of AI advisors argues it out and scores every option, and you get a verdict and a PDF. This guide sets it up from scratch and shows how to write a question that gets a useful answer.
Who this guide is for
Founders and business owners facing a hard call who want more than one view before they commit
Key terms
- skill
- A set of instructions that adds a new ability to Claude Code. This one is called roast-room and you run it with /roast-room.
- Claude Code
- The version of Claude that runs in your terminal. The whole council runs inside it and uses your Claude plan.
- The Chair
- Claude itself. It reads your question, recommends the advisors, runs the rounds, keeps score and writes the verdict.
- The council
- The advisors who sit at the table for your question. Twelve ship with it, and seven of them are the default board.
- Simulation
- Each advisor is built from a known person's public work: letters, essays, talks. It is not the person, it does not speak for them, and none of them is affiliated with the project.
The steps
Step 1
Open the project and check what you need
The project lives on GitHub at nateherkai/roast-room, and the code is MIT licensed.
You need two things: Claude Code on your normal Claude plan, with no API key, and Node.js 20 or newer for the room that shows the debate.
The official project pageSource: github.com Tip: The room is optional. The council runs the same in Claude Code without it.
Step 2
Write your decision the way the council needs it
The council is only as good as what you give it. Put the decision in one line, two or three options, your numbers (revenue, cash, team size), your limits (time and budget), and what success looks like and by when.
Then say which way you lean and why. The council tests your lean instead of agreeing with it.
PromptQuestion template/roast-room I run [your business] at [monthly revenue] a month with [team size] people. Should I [option A], [option B], or keep doing what I do now? I have [cash] in the bank. My limit is [hours or budget]. Success is [result] by [date]. I'm leaning toward [option] because [reason].
Step 3
Start the room and run a council
Clone the project, go into the folder, run npm start and open http://localhost:4730. Leave it open.
Then open Claude Code in the same folder with claude, and type /roast-room with your decision from the step before. If you left something out, the Chair asks before the council starts.
Step 4
Choose who sits at the table
The Chair reads your question and recommends five to seven advisors, with one line on why each fits. Pick the recommended board, your default board, everyone when you have nine or fewer, or type a change like: recommended, but add Naval and drop Wickman.
You can also name the seats yourself with --seats, or ask one advisor with ask.
PromptReady commands/roast-room --seats hormozi, buffett [your decision] /roast-room ask buffett [your question] /roast-room --quick [a smaller, reversible decision] /roast-room board
Tip: Every council keeps a seat that guards your downside and one likely to disagree, so the room argues instead of nodding.
Step 5
Read the verdict and download the report
Each seat scores every option, weighted by how much its pillar matters to your decision. If a seat flags ruin risk the Chair caps the verdict, and if everyone agrees too fast it forces a real argument.
When the verdict lands, click Download PDF in the room. The full report is saved in sessions as verdict.md.
PromptCheck the quotespython .claude/skills/roast-room/scripts/check_quotes.py sessions/[session folder]
Step 6
Add a new advisor with one command
Type /newroaster and the name of someone with a real body of public work, or your own name if you want your own material. Claude asks two or three questions, gathers their sources, extracts how they think, and checks that every quote is word for word in its source.
Then open a new Claude Code session so the advisor loads as its own agent.
Tip: The advisor's portrait in the room needs an optional kie.ai key. Without it the advisor still works with a placeholder face.
Step 7
Watch your plan usage
A full council is three runs per seat, so 21 for a board of seven, and that takes a real share of your plan. Building a new advisor is about 8 to 10 runs.
For smaller calls you can reverse, use --quick: four advisors and two rounds.
Tip: The verdict helps you think. It does not decide for you. The last call is yours.
Ready prompts to copy
/roast-room Should I raise my price from [current price] to [new price] for everyone, for new clients only, or keep it? I have [number] clients, close rate about [percent], [cash] in the bank. Success is [monthly revenue] by [date]. I'm leaning toward [option] because [reason].
/roast-room Should I hire a [role] now at [salary], use a freelancer, or wait [months]? Revenue is [amount] a month, I work [hours] a week on [task]. Success is [result] by [date]. I'm leaning toward [option].
The takeaway
Bring your decision with its numbers and your lean, and let the council push back before the market does.
