The steps

   Open Create video in Gemini

   On a computer go to gemini.google.com, open the sidebar and click Create video.

   You need a Google AI plan on a personal account, or a qualifying Workspace license on a work account. It is not available to users under 18.

   Tip: A video takes a few minutes and you cannot use that chat meanwhile. Start a new chat and come back.

   Try a template first

   Before typing anything, look at the Templates inside Create video. Each one is a curated style you apply in one tap.

   This is the real shortcut: instead of guessing a magic word, you see the result and pick.

   Upload your photo

   Click Add image and upload the photo. You can add up to five images and one video in a request.

   If you upload an image, the video matches its aspect ratio. A vertical photo gives you a vertical video ready for Reels.

   Only upload photos you have the right to use, like your product or your home.

   Tip: The closer and clearer the subject, the cleaner the motion.

   Write a four part recipe instead of one word

   One word makes Gemini guess, so sometimes it lands and sometimes it does not. Write four things: what moves, how it moves, where the camera is, and what you hear.

   Keep the recipe in English and name the things in your photo.
