Key terms

Connector

An official link between Claude and another tool. Once connected, Claude can read and work inside your account in that tool from the same chat.

MCP

The standard connectors are built on. Any tool with an MCP server can be connected to Claude with one link.

Custom connector

A connector you add yourself with the tool's link when it is not in the official directory.

Add-in

A small program that runs inside another app. Claude for Excel is an add-in that runs inside Excel itself.

The steps

   Step 1

   Open the connector directory and pick only what you need

   In claude.ai open Settings, then Connectors, and press Browse connectors. The same directory lives at claude.com/connectors with more than a thousand connectors.

   Do not connect everything at once. Start with one or two tools you use daily and try them for a week.

   Tip: Every connector you add can see your data in that tool, so connect what you need.

   Step 2

   Connect Canva and let Claude design inside your account

   Search for Canva in the directory, press Connect and sign in with your Canva account.

   Now you can ask for a design in the chat and Claude works on Canva files in your account, instead of giving you a description to build by hand.

   Connect Notion and organise your projects

   From the same directory connect Notion and choose the pages Claude may reach.

   Then ask it to turn any idea or meeting into tasks in one of your databases.

   Read the page [page name] in Notion and turn it into tasks in the [database name] database: each task gets a title, an owner and a rough date. Do not delete anything that is already there.

   Install Claude for Excel and analyse numbers in the file

   Excel works differently: an add-in called Claude for Excel, installed from the Microsoft store, then you sign in with your Claude account. It is available on Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans.

   Claude reads the open workbook, explains where any number comes from and changes values without breaking formulas.

   Tip: Work on a copy, and do not open files from sources you do not trust.

   Add Higgsfield as a custom connector for images and video

   In Settings, then Connectors, press Add custom connector, paste mcp.higgsfield.ai/mcp and sign in with your Higgsfield account.

   Note: it needs a paid Higgsfield plan, and every image or video made from Claude spends credits there.

   Chain Supabase and Vercel and ship an app

   This is where connecting pays off. Supabase gives you a database and sign in, and Vercel publishes the site on a real link. Both are in the connector directory.

   Connect them, then ask Claude to build the app step by step and show you each step before it runs.

   Chain them into one flow

   The real value is not one tool, it is letting each tool hand off to the next: numbers from Excel, the plan in Notion, the design in Canva, the ad in Higgsfield.

   Any connector you stop using, disconnect it from the same settings page.
