لصق الملفات يحرق رصيدك
عادة واحدة تغيّرها اليوم تقلّص فاتورتك على Claude بشكل هادئ وملموس.
كل مرة تلصق فيها ملف كامل داخل Claude، كل سطر في ذلك الملف يُحتسب كـ tokens. مو بس الجزء اللي تبغاه. الكل. والـ tokens هي ما تدفع عليه فعلاً، سواء كنت على خطة مدفوعة أو تشتغل عبر الـ API مباشرة.
🧩 إيش هو الـ Token بالضبط
الـ token ليس كلمة كاملة، بل قطعة نص. بعض الأحيان كلمة كاملة وبعض الأحيان جزء منها. تقريباً كل 4 حروف إنجليزية تساوي token واحد. ملف سورس كود فيه 500 سطر يساوي ما بين 3,000 إلى 6,000 token على الأقل. هذا الرقم ينزل من رصيدك في كل رسالة ترسلها تحمل ذلك الملف، يعني كل سؤال بسيط تسأله وأنت لاصق الملف كاملاً يحرق الآلاف سواء احتاج Claude لكلها أو لا. فكّر في الأمر مثل شخص يطلب منك تجيبه الكتاب كاملاً عشان يقرأ لك سطرين في الصفحة الأولى.
⚙️ كيف يختلف الأمر لو أعطيت المسار بدل اللصق
Claude يقدر يقرأ الملفات مباشرة لو أعطيته المسار، وعند ذاك يقرأ فقط الجزء اللي يحتاجه لحل مشكلتك. مو الملف كله.
التفاوت حقيقي وكبير:
1️⃣ تلصق ملفاً فيه 800 سطر لسؤال عن دالة في السطر 40: 5,000 token تقريباً تُحتسب لكل رسالة
2️⃣ تعطيه المسار وتقول "شوف الدالة عند السطر 40": يقرأ السياق المحيط بها، 300 إلى 500 token بس
3️⃣ في جلسة شغل طويلة هذا الفرق يتراكم إلى آلاف الـ tokens فعلياً على فاتورتك
الفائدة مو بس اقتصادية. بصراحة Claude يكون أدق وأركّز لما يقرأ جزءاً محدداً بدل ما يغرق في ملف ضخم يدور على ما يهمك.

هذي هي الأداة الأساسية اللي تجعل هذي العادة ممكنة وطبيعية. Claude Code يشوف ملفاتك مباشرة من مجلد مشروعك. ما تحتاج تلصق أي شيء، يقرأ فقط ما يحتاجه للإجابة على سؤالك.
كيف تبدأ:
1️⃣ نزّله من claude.ai/download أو عبر npm بالأمر: npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code
2️⃣ افتح مجلد مشروعك في الطرفية واكتب: claude
3️⃣ ابدأ تتكلم مع Claude عن الملفات بالمسار مباشرة، مثل: "افتح ملف src/auth/login.js وشوف الدالة handleLogin"

3️⃣ Claude يفتح الملف بنفسه ويقرأ الدالة المحددة مع السياق المحيط بها فقط
4️⃣ تحصل على تشخيص وحل دقيق وأنت ما أنفقت token واحد على الـ 300 سطر اللي ما لها علاقة بالمشكلة
وش تسوي بعد ذا

Pasting Files Burns Your Credit
One habit shift that quietly cuts your Claude bill every single day.
Every time you paste a full file into Claude, every line of that file is counted as tokens. Not just the part you care about. All of it. And tokens are what you are actually paying for, whether you are on a paid plan or hitting the API directly.
What a token actually is
A token is not a full word. It is a chunk of text, sometimes a whole word and sometimes part of one. Roughly every 4 English characters equal one token. A source file with 500 lines sits somewhere between 3,000 and 6,000 tokens minimum. That number drains from your balance on every message that carries that file. Think of it like asking someone to bring you the entire encyclopedia because you need one sentence from page 12. Every question you ask about the code, with the full file pasted in, burns those tokens whether Claude needed all of them or not.
How it changes when you give a path instead
Claude can read files directly when you point it to a path. When it does, it reads only what it needs to solve your actual problem. Not the whole file.
The difference is real:
1️⃣ You paste an 800-line file to ask about a function on line 40: roughly 5,000 tokens charged per message
2️⃣ You give the path and say "look at the function around line 40": Claude reads the surrounding context, maybe 300 to 500 tokens
3️⃣ Across a long working session that gap compounds into thousands of tokens in real savings
The benefit is not only cost. Claude is genuinely more precise when it reads a specific section rather than wading through a large file searching for what actually matters.
Where you notice the difference
These are the situations that burn the most tokens when you paste:
🐛 Debugging: you send a whole file because of an error on two lines
📝 Code review: you paste 10 files and ask "what do you think?"
🔄 Repeated edits: the same file gets pasted 5 times in one conversation

💡 Try it yourself: step by step
The scenario: you have a Python file with a bug in one function. The old habit is to paste the whole file. Change it right now.
1️⃣ Open Claude Code in your project folder by typing: claude
2️⃣ Instead of pasting the code, write something like: "In the file utils/parser.py, the function parse_date returns the wrong result when I pass a date in slash format. What is wrong?"
3️⃣ Claude opens the file on its own and reads the specific function along with the surrounding context
4️⃣ You get an accurate diagnosis and fix, and you spent zero tokens on the 300 lines that had nothing to do with the problem
What to do next

✅ Next time you are about to paste a file, pause for one second and ask yourself: can I give it the path instead?
