Claude Code Mods: خلّ Claude Code يشتغل على طريقتك بدون ما تكتب كودClaude Code Mods: Make Claude Code Work Your Way Without Writing Code
After this guide you will know what a Claude Code mod is, how to ask Claude to write one for you, and how to install a ready mod and check it before you trust it.
Who this guide is for
Anyone who uses Claude Code in the terminal or the Code tab of the Claude app
Key terms
- Mod
- A plugin with JavaScript or TypeScript code that runs inside Claude Code itself. It can change how the interface looks and behaves.
- Hook
- A function inside a mod that Claude Code runs when an event happens, such as a tool call, a submitted prompt or part of the interface being drawn.
- Tool call
- Any time Claude reads a file, runs a command or edits code. A mod can watch it, change it or stop it.
- Marketplace
- A place you publish plugins and install them from, usually a GitHub repository.
The steps
Step 1
Check your Claude Code version
Mods need Claude Code v2.1.287 or later, and they are on by default.
Open your terminal and run the command below. If your version is older, update Claude Code first.
PromptIn your terminalclaude --version
Tip: If you use Claude Code through a company, an admin can limit mods in managed settings.
Step 2
Know what a mod can do
A mod can draw a pane beside the transcript or a band above the prompt, and add a /command that runs at once without a Claude turn.
It can hold any tool call and ask you first, or redraw parts of Claude Code's own interface, like the spinner.
Drawing shows in the terminal and in the Code tab of the Claude app. In VS Code and cloud sessions the hooks run but nothing is drawn.

Ask Claude to write a mod
You do not need to write code. In a Claude Code session, describe what you want in one clear sentence: where it shows, what it shows, and when it updates.
Claude writes the mod files for you.

Step 4
Try a command guard
One of the most useful mods: it watches every Bash command before it runs, and holds risky ones until you confirm.
Edit the list to match your work.
PromptCommand guard promptMake me a mod that watches every Bash tool call. If the command matches any of these: [rm -rf, git push --force, git reset --hard], hold the call and ask me to confirm before it runs. Let every other command run as usual.
Step 5
Try a focus lock
A mod that keeps you on one task. You start it with a command, it shows a band above the prompt with the task and the time left, and if you ask for something off task it answers with a reminder.
PromptFocus lock promptMake me a mod with a /focus command. /focus [task] [minutes] starts a sprint and shows a band above the prompt with the task and a countdown. Until the timer ends, if I send a prompt that is clearly unrelated to the task, answer it yourself with a short reminder instead of sending it to Claude. /focus off ends the sprint.
Step 6
Install a ready mod from a marketplace
A mod installs like any plugin: the plugin name, an @, then the marketplace name.
If you install it from your shell while a session is open, run /reload-plugins in that session to load it.

Step 7
Check any mod before you trust it
A mod runs with your permissions: it can read and write your files, see every prompt you send, and approve commands Claude would have asked you about.
Before you install one, get the plugin's files and run validate. The hooks and calls lines list every event it handles and everything it asks Claude Code to do.

Tip: Install only from authors and marketplaces you trust.
Step 8
Turn mods off when you need to
Disable one mod from the Installed tab in /plugin, or start Claude Code with --safe-mode for one session without any mods.
To stop all of them in every session, set disableAllHooks to true in your settings file.

Ready prompts to copy
Make me a mod that shows how long the current task has been running beside the spinner, and prints a one line summary with the total time and number of tool calls when the turn ends.
The takeaway
Start with one small mod that fixes something that bugs you every day, and check any mod before you install it.
