Core Concepts for Smart Building

Slash Commands and Skills

Using the built in /commands to speed up repetitive tasks.

Claude Code ships with a set of slash commands that speed up common tasks. This is not the full list, but these are the most used.

The Most Useful Slash Commands

  • /help — a list of every available command
  • /clear — wipe the current conversation and start a new session
  • /memory — view and edit the persistent memory
  • /bug — methodical debugging mode
  • /review — request a code review of the current changes
  • /commit — create a git commit with the changes
  • /plan — request a plan before starting a large task

Skills: Custom Commands

You can add your own skills, personal or project specific. Skills are Markdown files that define specific workflows you can call with /skillname. Think of them as smart macros for repetitive tasks.
